My daughter Edith and I were lucky enough to get tickets to the show-jumping at Greenwich Park on Sunday 5th August. The park is right on our doorstep and it was wonderful to see how it had been transformed for the equestrian events. We arrived 10 minutes before the start, we didn't have to queue and the view from the stands was excellent. Despite the changeable weather – we got drenched with rain, then partially dried out by the brilliant sunshine – it was a throughly enjoyable experience. I would like to have gone back today, to see the British team win a Gold Medal – but we could hear the cheers and applause thundering through Greenwich and we joined in with gusto when they played the National Anthem. Hurrah!
